By identifying commercial products mentioned within a publisher’s content, VigLink automatically invigorates those terms by transforming them into hyperlinks whose destinations are determined in real-time, advertiser-bid auctions. Yes, hyperlinks, the defining feature of the Web from the very start. The literal “H” in HTML. Every time a clicked link takes a person from one destination to another, value is created. However, that value has never been fairly priced or available for purchase at scale. Until now.

Founded in 2009, VigLink is located in heart of San Francisco and backed by top investors including Google Ventures, Emergence Capital, and RRE. VigLink manages a publisher network of over 2 million sites and apps, as well as an advertiser network of over 70,000 brands and merchants.

About the Product Manager role:
VigLink is seeking a Product Manager to lead our core Insert product suite and expand its applications and usage in ad-tech ecosystem. The Product Manager will be responsible for defining products and features that meet the needs of VigLink’s customers viz: Advertisers who use VigLink’s Insert products to reach a targeted audience for their products & VigLink’s publishers in helping them monetize their content dynamically as well as working with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to deliver them.

At VigLink we love go-getters and are looking for someone can lead product development of VigLink’s affiliation platform and applications from inception to delivery.  

Responsibilities:

  • Understand market needs by building relationships with key merchants, publishers, and constituents to help identify business problems to be solved
  • Collaborate with business and engineering teams to define successful solutions and deliver to end users
  • Gather feedback and develop consensus with internal executives and staff to define and maintain a product roadmap and clearly articulate the strategy driving it
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to drive product and feature launches as well as key messaging.
  • Measure success of in-market products and use data-driven approaches to make improvements
  • Drive product and feature development, working with engineering by creating product specification and agile user stories, and participating in daily meetings in an agile context


Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience as a product manager and/or product owner in the affiliation marketing, ad tech/digital advertising or marketing analytics space
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, and working as part of an Agile team
  • Ability to synthesize customer requests into coherent narratives and features in both paragraph and Agile Story form
  • Experience in affiliate marketing, e-commerce growth, web marketing or advertising environments, such as Forums/UGC, Publisher Monetization, Display Advertising, PPC
  • Excellent communication skills; the ability to explain complex topics clearly and succinctly
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field is helpful but not required


Example opportunities you could be working on:

  • Defining new core features for the VigLink Insert product suite and VigLink’s internal exchange to determine the most valuable destination for each link
  • Enhance our Advertiser Analytics and Campaign Management capabilities
  • Define and launch user-friendly tools to help publishers direct traffic to the most valuable merchants
  • Define and launch products to help merchants attract hyper-targeted, highly desirable audiences to their sites
